In this talk we  review some of the results concerning the low (parabolic) and
high (hyperbolic) limits of the Vlasov-Poisson-Fokker-Planck system. 
We also introduce new double (intermediate)  scales that provide a tool to deal with 
other type of kernels different from that of  Fokker-Planck
