My research has been in the areas of Singularity Theory, Computational Algebraic Geometry, Computer Algebra and their applications.

More recently, I also contributed in Computer Aided Geometric Design through the European project GAIA II, and to the study of Geometric Shapes with the European net of excellence Aim@Shape.

With two of my students D. Rupprecht and G. Cheze, and in collaboration with G. Lecerf, we developed very fast and almost optimal algorithms for computing the absolute factorization of a multivariate polynomial.

This will be developed further together with other questions of geometry treated via approximations in the project GECKO recently accepted by the french agence ANR.
