Postdoc position with the Projet ANR-14-CE25-0004 GAMME


A one year post-doctoral position is available within the project GAMME (Groups, Actions, Measures, Metrics, Entropy) funded by the French National Research Agency and coordinated by Damien Gaboriau and Romain Tessera.

The main topics of the project are
  • measured group theory,
  • geometric group theory,
  • topological dynamics,
  • Borel dynamics and related subjects such as L2 Invariants theory, von Neumann Algebras, Percolation on graphs, invariant random subgroups, sofic groups and sofic entropy, Borel combinatorics...

    The hired person will be affiliated with the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Lyon (ENS-Lyon, France) but there are possibilities of short term visits to work with the members of the project. More information about the project is available on the GAMME website.

    The duration of the position is one year. The salary is set individually based on experience but someone just completing the PhD should expect a monthly salary of around 2200 euros (net). There are no teaching duties. Travel expenses (visits, conferences) can be covered by the project.
